Cove Fort

We stopped in and took the tour of Cove Fort. Such a story of sacrifice and trusting the Lord in doing the work we are called to do.

They had these benches made from the Oak tree that was cut down 3 months ago.

They would use that tool to tighten the rope that held their corn sac mattress up. Hence the saying "Sleep tight".

Cutest photo bomber. PS. Is it a problem that I wanted all the furniture for my house? My husband says yes.

Junior Festival

SO proud of these girls and their performances at Junior Festival. Once a year they memorize and perfect two piano pieces to perform in front of two judges. Third year for the oldest- who received Superior and first year for the youngest- who received Excellent. Sure we fight over practicing daily, but they have a knack for it and I can't wait for them to thank me (grandma mostly) for their piano lessons. And because there was a really cool tree on near the building they performed in, these happened. There is just something about a twisted tree that is beautiful to me. Just one of those weird facts about me for ya.

Meeting the newest member of the family

Accordion

Every blue moon Grandpa pulls out his accordion that he paid cash for back in the day. . . . and the kids eyes shine with amazement at such a magical instrument. It is the best moment.
